ALLFATHER: First Person, Roguelike, Dungeon Crawler set in the realms of Norse Myth

A fallen Shieldmaiden fights from the depths of Helheim to earn her place in Valhalla

Veteran roguelike developer Tommy McKay has announced ALLFATHER, a brutal first-person roguelike with precise, stamina-driven combat, coming to Steam in 2027. Tommy follows up his self-published hit Gnomes with a first-person climb through Norse myth. ALLFATHER is his most ambitious project yet, and will be the first project released under his name as a solo developer.

In ALLFATHER, you play a fallen shieldmaiden who rejects the judgement of the Valkyries. Sent to Hel by mistake, she defies the will of Odin and fights her way up from the depths of Helheim to confront him in the halls of Valhalla. The other gods see an opportunity in her defiance and lend her their blessings along the way.

"Every exchange in ALLFATHER is brutal but fair. There are no cheap deaths, but you'll pay for your mistakes. It doesn't matter if you're carving through a swarm of crawling undead or in a frenetic duel with an elite. Button mashing gets you killed, awareness and patience keep you alive," said McKay.

Every run is a fresh climb through the worlds of Norse myth. Each realm is its own distinct biome: a different environmental challenge, a unique set of foes and a new boss to master. Choose your rewards at every fork, and shape your build through the blessings of the gods. Death is permanent, but the runes and iron you earn feed persistent progression in Hel's hall between runs.

"ALLFATHER is built on the roguelike foundations players know me for. Tension and real decisions. Permadeath means every fight you survive raises the stakes, and every blessing you take is a choice you live with for the rest of the run. I didn't want to make a dungeon crawl about inventory management and bookkeeping, I wanted to make one about mastering the combat system and chasing the moment where you feel your build come together."
